Superintendents of Rock (SOR) originated in 2015 when four Utah Superintendents desired to get away from the stresses of their jobs and let their hair down. They wanted to play rock and roll and "stick it to the man", but that didn't stop them from bringing out those good old classic rock songs.
Since 2015, the band has performed at annual meetings of the Utah School Board Association, Utah School Superintendents Association, Utah Rural Schools Association annual Conference, the First Lady's (Abby Cox) Stand Up for Teachers Conference, City Culture Festivals, weddings, and many school district activities.
in 2021 after the survival of COVID-19 and the retirement of two members (Scott Crane & Scott Rogers), the group evolved into Superintendents of Rock Plus (SOR+). The band decided that many great leaders, educators, and individuals could contribute to the rock n Roll world. SOR+ now includes spouses, building principals, classroom teachers, and even some band members' children and grandchildren.
